Entry requirements
There are no prerequisites for this course, howeverAs a Registered Training OrgaThis qualification reflects the role of instructors who perform a range of activities and functions within the fitness industry. Depending on the specialisation chosen, this qualification provides a pathway to work as an instructor providing exercise instruction for group, aqua or gym programs.

They work independently with some level of autonomy in a controlled environment such as fitness, leisure, aquatic and community centres where risks are managed through pre-existing risk assessment and hazard control processes.

Career Opportunities/Vocational Outcomes
Individuals who specialise in "Gym Instruction" provide individually tailored client assessments, provide technique correction as needed, and develop and demonstrate programs. They also provide supervision of a facility or service, keep equipment clean, tidy and well maintained, and handle various customer inquiries.

Program Articulation
Students who complete the Certificate III in Fitness may articulate into the Certificate IV in Fitness

The course Estimated Study hours:
24x hours per week = 12 months
Minimum of 30 hours work placement or work experience


Course Hours
The course is self-paced, which allows students to commence daily.
Students to be able to complete the course in their own time frame over a 12 month period.


Course Commencement
This course is a Self Paced Online course, which means courses and enrolments commence daily.

Delivery Methods
This course is a selfpaced course which means students take control of their study and can complete the course at their own pace. The theory is delivered using our online learning portal, combined with practical work experience which must be completed within industry via correspondence. Work experience is arranged by the student and the students must keep a logbook of their hours in a gym facility. Students are required to use Google Chrome or Firefox as their browser to complete the online training components.

Assessment Methods
Students may be required to complete written and oral exams, participate in simulated activities, complete assignments, presentations, vocational projects, self-directed research and roleplays through our online learning system. There will be templates and tasks that are required to be completed in a workplace or suitable setting, simulation may be an option where necessary. Any Students undertaking a course as part of a work based traineeships will be assessed in the workplace.

Recognition of Prior Learning
Participants with previous training and/or experience may apply for RPL. Participants, who have completed courses with equivalent / matching learning outcomes, will be granted credit transfer. Click here to watch the RPL video and understand our process.

Accreditation
Qualifications are issued by Distance Colleges Australia, RTO: 31486 are nationally recognised throughout Australia under the ( AQF ) Australian Qualifications Framework.

Costs
Course cost $2500.00, payments are made in line with our fee policy found in our Terms and Conditionshttps://distancecolleges.com.au/tcs/ and Student Handbook Click here in relation to fees in advance. We ensure that fees paid in advance of course delivery are protected by having such funds entered into accounts as "Unearned Income," which may not be drawn upon until such time as delivery has commenced. We have a Set Fee Structure for all of its training courses which consists of a Maximum of $1000.00 Enrolment and a $500.00 commencement fee, allowing the final amount to be paid at completion.

To achieve this course, the qualification packaging rules requires completion of 16 units:

SISFFIT001 Provide health screening and fitness orientation
SISFFIT002 Recognise and apply exercise considerations for specific populations
SISFFIT003 Instruct fitness programs
SISFFIT004 Incorporate anatomy and physiology principles into fitness programming
SISFFIT005 Provide healthy eating information
SISFFIT014 Instruct exercise to older clients
SISXCCS001 Provide quality service
SISXFAC001 Maintain equipment for activities
SISXIND001 Work effectively in sport, fitness and recreation environments

Electives

Packaging Rules for each specialisation:

All Group A electives must be selected for award of the Certificate III in Fitness ( Aqua Exercise Instructor )
All Group B electives must be selected for award of the Certificate III in Fitness ( Group Exercise Instructor )
All Group C electives must be selected for award of the Certificate III in Fitness ( Gym Instructor ).
